SECTION IX: Competition - Field Pistol

A. General

1. Categories:

a) Competition will be in two Production handgun categories:
Production (P)
Production Any Sights (PAS)
The letters in parentheses are the official abbreviations for each category.

2. Handguns:

Production category must compete with open sights only. (See Section III-A)

Production Any Sights category may compete with open sights, scopes, or other optical devices. (See Section III-A-14 thru 18)

Optical equipment: Scopes, mounts, and other optical devices must be as manufactured, with no modifications. Scopes and optical devices must be removed from handguns which are used in the Production category.

Revolvers and pistols of other action types shall compete on an equal basis.

3. Cartridges: See Section IV-C.

4. Targets: See Section V-C.

5. Shooting Position: All Field Pistol competition will be conducted in the Standing position. (See Section VI-B)

7. If a competitor chooses to use an open-sighted handgun in the Production Any Sights category and use the same handgun in the Production category, in the same match, the Production entry must be fired first.
