Welcome to the new shooter's section of this web site. Please feel free to roam around and get a feel of this shooting sport.

Metallic silhouette is a form of target shooting where something happens when you make a hit. After trying this form of shooting once, paper targets loose their attraction. (Overview of Silhouette)

New shooters are encouraged to read or print the Clinic Handbook as it will provide a history and a more detailed overview of handgun metallic silhouette.

New shooters have many questions regarding the shooting of IHMSA silhouette. The section is intended to answer some of the most commonly asked questions.

In addition, the newer shooter wonders what handgun calibers and loads are required to effectively "knock down" the target.
